Canmore has everything one needs for enjoyment and necessities. It is close to both Banff and Kananaskis Country for skiing, shopping, biking, hiking, lots of dining options, historical sites…and more. There is something for everyone! If you like being independent, opportunities for self-guided activities abound. If you want guided tours, there is everything from dog sledding to heli-tours, rafting to mountain biking…hiking to yoga. It’s the best value for the money spent! And the scenery is unbeatable.

So much to do and see with Canmore being your base. It’s an easy quick trip to Banff without the hoards of tourists that are in Banff. Canmore has a cosy downtown with lots of activities in the surrounding area. It’s a great area to stay in!

Visited Grizzly Paw Brewing Company, Murriettas and Bridgette. All had great service! Stayed in private owner suite at Solara. Young child friendly pool and huge hot tub area. Has a small restaurant and a liquor store. Twilight Soak at Nordic Spa in Kananaskis area was fun and relaxing!

Canmore is a great little town right in the heart of the rockies. It is very close to Banff, without the cost of staying right in Banff. It is close to many outdoor activities for both summer and winter. Both Lake Louise and Sunshine Village ski resorts are within an hour. There are lots of hiking opportunities with some even starting in town. We have enjoyed many of the local restaurants, and there is a lot of variety to please any palate. While it can sometimes get busy, it is easy to get around and easily walkable for most people.

It is a lovely town with world-class views of the rocky almost on your doorstep on both sides. It's not as busy or touristy as Banff and it has some wonderful shops. It has two supermarkets both offering a massive choice of goods, and plenty of restaurants. There is the Nordic Centre which is brilliant for hiking in summer and cross-country trails in winter. I could easily live there. The only downside is that it is expensive, as is Canada in general.

I'm not sure what there is to do in Canmore, been there may times and never once done anything worth remembering. I've heard there are caves and great hiking trails. Unfortunately nothing is well marked and haven't stumbled across them yet.

we love how clean and spacious the unit is. the neighborhood is pretty and well-kept. The check-in process was seamless and the underground parking was clean and an easy walk to the unit. great communication from the owner. I only wish Canmore is closer to Banff National Park. it was a bit drive to the scenic spots everyday. this is a perfect choice if you plan to enjoy Canmore vicinity. we enjoyed our vacation very much and will be back. I would choose this unit again coming back to Canmore.

Such a great find! I booked a 2 bedroom suite to share with my parents and it was plenty big enough and very well equipped with all the kitchen essentials and laundry in-suite. Only a 20-minute drive from Banff it's perfect for a cheaper way to enjoy the Rockies. We also loved how close we were to everything in Canmore, making it easy to explore on foot. The pool was an added bonus, too. Overall our stay was excellent value and I'll definitely book here for future trips.

The morning breakfast was plentiful and hours of food service were excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Pocaterra is Pet friendly a plus, however charging $25. Per night for a 6lb. Dog is excessive. They provided dog bowls which were too large for our pet, the dog bed was an old hotel blanket, so we feel that does not warrant such a charge. A nice sized pool and water slide, more family oriented.

Good location a little bit outside of Canmore but still very close to downtown area. Around 20-30 Minutes walk. The room we got for two queensize bed was quite big. Even though it was right next to the elevator, we could not hear anything from the lift. The Hotel did not offer a regular breakfast but a kind of breakfast to go for just 5$. It was a very good value and enough for us to start into the day.

This is a quaint little hotel, older, and its location is phenomenal. Unlike the bigger chain hotels of Canmore, from the Drake Hotel you can easily walk to the downtown area and, even better, the wildlife walk, just minutes away. The beds were comfortable and they were very helpful at the restaurant when we wanted to borrow cutlery for our take-out. The view from the room was lovely.

Excellent hotel in Canmore. Very comfortable bedroom with mini kitchen that was very well equipped with everything you could need. Safe underground parking. Hotel allowed us to drop our luggage in before check in and stored it safely for us. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in this area.

It was the cheapest hotel we could find in Canmore, standard motel rooms but clean and comfy. Our kids enjoyed the playground and hot tub, which we had to ourselves both times we used it. There's even a great view of the mountains from our window in the morning.
